Market Plus 1 from LIC of India Closed on 31 Aug 2010.  This is a Pension Plan with zero risk cover OPTION.

What this means is that all your money goes into Investments so you can expect a higher return.
You have the option of adding in the amount of risk cover that you want.
Institutions too can invest in this scheme.

The following are some of the features / benefits of this scheme:

3.  with / with out risk cover (during the offer period - before 31 July 2010)
4.  All Modes allowed (Single premium, Yearly, ...)
5.  Maximum Age at entry - 75 years
6.  Minimum term - 10 years
7.  Reduced Fund Management Charge
8.  Unlimited top-up
9.  No Surrender Charges
10. Critical Illness and Accident Benefit optional

However, please be advised that this is beneficial for a Long-term investor - the longer you remain invested, the better is the return.  If for example, you are investing for your child's education and have sufficient insurance already in his name, you might want to look at this as an option where you put money but do NOT add to the risk cover.  That way, the other insurance+investment options bring the planned returns - this options brings in a higher return to take care of any changes to your plans.

Or if you have surplus money but want a low-risk policy with good returns, this is the right place to put.  You could work on a single-premium option or pay premiums every year.
